Greg Douglass has been a professional musician for over 53 years, playing both acoustic and electric guitar. He has toured and recorded with Steve Miller, Van Morrison, Hot Tuna, Greg Kihn, Paul Butterfield, and many others. He is also a songwriter, having co-written the hit song “Jungle Love”, a Steve Miller standard. He has four platinum albums on his wall, representing well over 15 million album sales.

During this time, Greg spent 20 years teaching at two music stores in the San Diego area, at one time working with sixty students a week. He has been exposed to multiple styles during his career and shares this experience with all skill levels, beginning to advanced. He works with students to identify and achieve musical goals, whether it be undoing technique issues that are holding them back, learning slide guitar, fingerpicking, blues, rock, or reading both tab and standard notation.

Most importantly, Greg is a patient and encouraging instructor. He listens carefully to each student as an individual. it’s not a “one size fits all” curriculum. He’ll work with you on the ideal practice regimen to fit your schedule in today’s busy world. All ages are welcome, from 8 to 80 years old. (Yes, seniors, old dogs can indeed learn new tricks.)
